Mr Damon J Simmons
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon since 2006 working at Liverpool University Hospitals, the Regional Major Trauma Centre for the Northwest. I have trained in Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham working in University Teaching Hospitals and have undertaken further specialist training in upper limb and lower limb conditions i.e. foot and ankle. I completed my specialist orthopaedic surgery training in the West Midlands and Mersey Deaneries before being appointed a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon.
My clinical and surgical expertise is in trauma and elective orthopaedic surgery. I specialise in managing major trauma patients with upper and lower limb injuries. My trauma experience includes general spinal injuries assessment including fractures/whiplash/soft tissue injuries as well as general trauma injuries. I have a specialist interest in trauma including complex knee, and lower limb injuries including bone and soft tissue injuries.
Elective surgery includes knee joint replacements, soft tissue ligament reconstruction and revision knee surgery. Specialising in knee surgery including sports injuries and trauma including complex knee and lower limb trauma.
I have had 7 years experience of foot and ankle surgery, both elective and trauma at consultant level including bunion surgery, mid foot, forefoot and ankle surgery. My elective surgery focuses now on knee surgery and trauma surgery including major trauma and complex lower limb trauma.
I can confirm that I am currently in NHS practice and Expert Witness Medicolegal practice with a GMC specialist license to practice.

I enjoy spending time with my family, playing golf, swimming, gym and watching Liverpool Football Club.
